Adorable created for Colour Blast

Here is my second project I created for Colour Blast (no video this time). With spring just around the corner I thought I would do a layout of Oliver at the beach when he was only a few months old.

I decided to take a few photos as this layout has a lot of steps in building the layers.

I used Colour Shimmer Sprays Deep Water and Just Blue. I also used Colour Spray Lagoon and water to help the colours blend.

I used Colour Paste Envy and Apple of my Eye with some white gesso onto the corrugated cardstock

Here I used Colour Shimmer spray Just Blue and Deep Water on the patterned paper

I used Colour Blast Mica Powder Cool Mint….which is a gorgeous colour and Colour Blast Paste Sunshine

This is a Prima Stencil that I used with Colour Paste Envy (one of my fav colours) and I also used embossing powder Sunshine to get more texture. I didn’t cover the whole word though.

This is how it turned out.

Thanks for dropping by and I will be uploading more projects soon.

All Colour Blast products can be found on the Colour Blast website.

You Make Me Smile

After all the excitement of having my first project uploaded on the Colour Blast blog, I forgot to share it on my blog….woops.
Better late than never lol.
So let me step you through the process of how I created this layout.
For those that know me, I do love my sprays and creating layers with them and that’s what this layout is all about.
So first of all I started with covering the area I wanted to work in with White Gesso. I then used texture paste (modelling paste will work also) and stenciled using Tim Holtz Houndstooth mini stencil and a bubble stencil from Scrap Fx
While the texture paste was still wet, I sprayed Colour Spray Grape and Violet randomly on to the paste. I then spritzed with water to let the colour mingle.
I then splattered Colour Shimmer Spray Lovely Lilac and dried the sprays.
I sprayed Colour Spray Carribean and Sapphire and again spritzed with water.
I added a little of Colour Shimmer Spray in Rose Petal for a little bit of sparkle.
To help break up all the colour, I added a small amount of Colour Spray Road Base and used water to help it run on the page.
For an extra layer, I used Kaisercraft stamp Moroccan and black archival ink and stamped randomly.
I used Colour Spray Road Base as a base coat to my chipboard flourish, once dried I used my finger to lightly dab on white gesso. I then splattered with Colour Shimmer Spray Rose Petal.
I had 2 small yellow flowers that I sprayed with Colour Spray Grape and with a paint brush added Colour Shimmer Lovely Lilac on the purple flower. Then lightly rubbed some white gesso over the petals.
To finish off the layout, I cut the flourish chipboard in half and added navy and lilac thread to my flower cluster. I then added my chipboard title and a small label for the date.
Be sure to check out my first ever process video on how I created this layout below.

Dream to be Fabulous Art Journal Page

So I wanted to share with you my second art journal page that I created whilst my 2 little men were in bed last night.

I wasn’t sure how this page was going to turn out at the beginning. I wasn’t happy with it but as I kept adding the layers and colours the happier  I was with it.

Firstly I tore up some paper from an old book and used white gesso to cover the page. I then sprayed with water and randomly used Colour Blast Sprays Saffron and Rainforest. Once it was dried I used a small amount of Colour Blast Carribean spray and water to help the spray run a little.

It’s been a while since I have used my Gelatos so i thought I dust them off  and use them to give the background some more colour coverage. I used Mango and Cotton Candy and used my finger to rub it in. I then highlighted the torn pages with Boysenberry.

I had recently bought a Dylusions stamp and stencil set Floral Flourish that I was dying to use so I mixed some Impasto Paste and Colour Blast Mica Powder Olive Grove to create a paste for my stencil. Once it was dry, I stamped the flowers from the set with Versfine Onyx Black and with my watercolour pen and Staedtler Aquarell pencils to colour the stamps.

I had originally stamped 2 words onto the page but I wasn’t happy with how they stamped so I decided to stencil over them with black gesso and TCW Mini Butterfly Collage.

Once they were dry, I ran my gelatos – Red Cherry, Gold Champagne, Cotton Candy and Metallic Purple over the top to make them pop a little bit.

I found some Fundamentals Black Alpha Stickers in my stash (Fun39) which I added and then highlighted them using my Uni Posca White pen.

To finish it off I splattered with white gesso and Colour Blast Sprays Road Base and Carribean.

Thanks for dropping by and happy scrapping
