Altered Skull Cup

Happy Hauntings Everyone!!! I am back with another Halloween themed project for Art Anthology and this time I decided to alter a plastic skull head cup I found at Kmart here in Australia.

  1. I started by painting my cup and Dusty Attic chipboard pieces with black gesso. I then used modeling paste and AA’s Cracked stencil to create the illusion of veins.

2. Once dry, I then applied Bone Stone Effects with my palette knife randomly all over the cup and dried with my heat tool.

3. I then adhered my chipboard pieces and painted again with black chipboard. Once it was dry, I then added Black Leather Jacket Sorbet Dimensional Paint all over and dried again.

4. Next I used Tango and Boysenberry Velvet Dimensional Paint to colour the chipboard spider and flourish.

5. I then used Nuvo Embellishment mousse to colour the all over the black gesso area.

6. To finish off the cup I then added Rust Texture Set  and some small plastic spiders.

Spooky Halloween Shadow Box

Hi there my lovelies!!! Today I am up on the Art Anthology blog with my first Halloween Project.

  1. I painted all my chipboard pieces and shadowbox with black gesso. I then applied Sandstone Stone Effects using a palette knife to the box and Gargoyles.

2.  I then used Cotton Velvet Dimensional Paint to add highlights to the chipboard pieces.

3. Next I dry brushed onto the shadowbox using Cotton Velvet Dimensional Paint.

4.  I painted my potion bottles using Sorbet Dimensional Paint in Black Leather Jacket…. I LOVE this colour.

5. The bottles needed some more texture as they got lost in the box so I added some Sandstone Stone Effects but I made sure I didn’t cover the pieces.

6. Next I painted some of the bottles with Kenyan Copper Sorbet Dimensional Paint

7. Finally before adhering everything together, I used Peacock Feathers Colorations Spray to colour the other potion bottles and used the left over spray on my desk to dry brush on the shadow box.

Happy Halloween Everyone!!! Today I am sharing my Altered Coffin for Dusty Attic. I’m not sure about you, but when I get an idea in my head I need to get it to paper asap otherwise it does my head in lol. So I got my amazing husband to cut for me from MDF board, I have wanted to do a project like this for a few years now and I am so happy with how it turned out.

To start with I applied white gesso to the board and then added my stenciling using Stamperia crackle paste. I then added some stamping to the background using black archival ink.

Here is my altered notebook – The notebook I used is from Kmart here in Australia and I primed both the front and back cover with black gesso. I used the Brick Wall Stencil along with some Prima Texture Powder and gesso to create my own texture paste.

I trimmed a piece from Geometric Panel and adhered it to the center of my notebook. I then used an assortment of cogs from Mini Cogs #2, Cogs #1 and Cogs #3. For the corners I used the bolts from Nuts and Bolts set.

Then to finish it off I used Dare To Dream stamp set by Finnabair for my dragonfly and the word “journal”. I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Archival Ink.
