Beautiful Dreams Art Journal Page

Hello Everyone! I am back again today on The Crafter’s Workshop blog with this art journal page I recently created.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

For my background I randomly added Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Shakers in Time Travel Teal, Polka Purple and Autumn Maple Crimson. Then sprayed with water and put aside to dry.

Using a make up sponge, I applied TCW9002 Black Gesso over the top of TCW775 Scalloped Mandala 6×6 stencil.

I liked the pattern the make up sponge made so I continued the dabbing all over the page.

I thought my page needed something else to break up the black so I used TCW261 Art Is 6×6 stencil and TCW9013 Iridescent Gold Heavy Body Acrylic Paint. I used another make up sponge to dab through the stencil. Because I had already used the Scallop Mandala stencil, I laid it on top of the script stencil so I knew where not to apply the gold paint.

Next I painted the chipboard feathers and chains with TCW9002 Black Gesso. Because chipboard is quite thick, I split the chipboard in half first.

Now to add colour to the feathers and chains. I started off by added art alchemy waxes and then added some TCW9036 Champagne Gold Modeling Paste by using my finger in a dabbing motion.

Next I added some Fluro Pink acrylic paint and finished them off with TCW9001 White Gesso.

For the chains I also used art alchemy waxes in White Gold and Rich Copper but it needed to be a little lighter so I added Brushed Iron as the end. I used a liquid glue to adhere the chains and feathers.

To finish off the page, I added a quote from Tim Holtz quotes sticker book and inked around the edges using Salty Ocean Distress Oxides. Then used some Uni Posca pens to draw around the edges of the page.

Here is a close up of the finished page

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial

Be Unique – Art Journal Page for The Crafter’s Workshop

Hey Everyone!! Today I am up on the TCW blog with an art journal I created using TCW Heavy Body Acrylic Paints and some pretty amazing stencils.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

For this project I used the new Dina Wakely Large Art Journal and I started by mixing TCW9017 Lemon Custrard and TCW9021 Blueberry Pie Heavy Body Acrylic Paints together to get a green tone. I used a paint brush to apply the paint and with the left over paint I used my fingers to rub onto the page.

Next I mixed TCW9017 Lemon Custrard and TCW9016 Spun Sugar Heavy Body Acrylic Paint and sponged it through TCW237 Tile Texture stencil.

After drying the paint with my heat tool, I then used TCW763 Alphabetica with a mixture of TCW9023 Blue Jellybean and TCW9016 Spun Sugar Heavy Body Acrylic Paint.

Then using the left over paint, I used my fingers to rub into the paper.

Now for the next layer – I mixed some TCW9020 Raspberry Sorbet and TCW9016 Spun Sugar Heavy Body Acrylic Paint to create a light pink tone and used my finger to apply through TCW792 Micro Dots stencil. And again with the left over paint, I rubbed onto the page.

Next I used the TCW755 Modern Lace stencil and using the stencil in sections I applied TCW9018 Orange Slice.

Now for the last layer, I used the same stencil but applied TCW9017 Lemon Custrard Heavy Body Acrylic Paint.

Once I was happy with the background, I then drew my face and used some paints to create a skin tone. I did use TCW9015 LicoriceTCW9016 Spun Sugar and TCW9021 Blueberry Pie Heavy Body Acrylic Paints for her hair and eyes. I also used TCW9019 Candy Apple Red Heavy Body Acrylic Paint for her lips.

To finish off my page I used some stamps by Tim Holtz and Heidi Swapp for the tile and my Uni Posca black paint pen for doodling around the edges.

Thanks for dropping by xx

Be Free to Create – Art Journal Pages

Hello Everyone!!! Today I am sharing with you all an art journal spread I created using my all time favourite colours. I’m not sure about you, but I never really know how my art journal pages will turn out. I tend to just go with the flow and that is just how this was created….just going with the flow.

Make sure you watch the process video which is at the end of the blog xx

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

I start of by dry brushing some paint onto my art journal pages. I used Dylusions Paints – Peony Blush, Laidback Lilac & Cherry Pie. While the paint is still a little wet, I then do a technique called ghosting using the TCW737 Love Sonnet stencil. This is where you use a baby wipe to lift off the paint to expose the base colour through the stencil.

Next I stenciled part of TCW776 Brick Poetry onto the sides of my pages using Dylusions White Linen.

brick-poetry-stencil

I then used the circles from the TCW753 Desert Mirage stencil to add Vibrant Turquoise paint.

Here you can see I have used the ghosting technique again but this time using TCW757s Circle of Jewels 6×6 stencil. I am only using this technique over the turquoise circles.

circle-of-jewels-stencil

I did use a black and white Uni Posca Paint pen to outline the circles and the the 2 stenciled borders. Using Crushed Grape Dylusions paint, I stenciled some of the lines from TCW770 Wildflower Duet.

wildflower-duet-stencil

I then stenciled the flowers onto both of my art journal pages using Calypso Teal and Funky Fuchsia Dylusions Paints. I didn’t wash my make up sponge and you can see the crushed grape paint has mixed with the calypso teal.

wildflower-duet-stencil-2

I then decided that my side borders needed a little bit more POP…. so I went over the stencil again but with Cherry Pie.

Because I have so many layers now, I realised that you can’t see the original ghosting I did using TCW737 Love Sonnet stencil. So I decided to use White Linen and randomly sponge all over my pages.

love-sonnet-stencil-2

I added some stamping using Dina Wakley Stamps – Silhouetted Women and Scribble Wings. For the title I used Tim Holtz Cling Foam Stamps – Block Upper which I used black archival ink. Then to finish if off, I did use a baby wipe and a small amount of white linen paint and lightly smudged around the pages.

Hello my crafty followers!!! I hope you are well. Today I am sharing an art journal page I created using some products by The Crafter’s Workshop and Dylusions Sprays.

farrel.tailor.dream.art.journal.page

I started by applying TCW9002 Black Gesso to my 2 pages of my art journal. I am using the 8×8 Dylusions art journal for this project.

1

Once I dried the black gesso using my heat tool, I then applied TCW9004 Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste to my TCW727 Flower Dance stencil. I started off with the larger flowers and then used the smaller ones.

2

After drying with my heat gun again (I heated until the paste formed some bubbles), I applied my sprays. Working light to dark I used the following sprays in order – Colour Blast Australia – Saffron Colour Spray, Dylusions Sprays – Peony Blush, Rose Quartz, Cherry Pie, Calypso Teal, Laidback Lilac, Periwinkle Blue and After Midnight.

3

4

It doesn’t take long for the sprays to dry and once they have I then used TCW527 Word Association stencil with TCW9004 Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste.

5

Then to finish it off I used the following sprays on my title – Dylusions Calypso Teal, Laidback Lilac, Periwinkle Blue, Rose Quartz, Peony Blush and Vanilla Custard.

Now for my Dusty Attic chipboard – I lightly covered the Paint Brushes #2 and Mason Jars chipboard with TCW9001 White Gesso and then used some Distress Crayons to colour. The crayons I used were – Broken China, Brushed Corduroy, Chipped Sapphire, Candied Apple, Black Soot, Lucky Clover, Wild Honey, Mowed Lawn, Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon. And I used my finger to blend the crayons.

Merry Christmas Art Journal Page

Hello and Happy Monday!!! Today I am sharing an art journal page I created using some very yummy The Crafter’s Workshop products. If you would like to see how I created this art journal page, there is a process video at the end of the blog.

main

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

I had so much fun creating this and got to use products from our preferred partners Thermoweb that I would have never thought of using. I have now found a new addiction!!! lol  So let’s get started!!!

background

I started by brushing Distress Oxide Inks – Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean & Broken China directly onto my pages in a swiping motion. Then sprayed with some water. Then I added some Black Soot using the same technique and again spritz with some water.

bg2

Next I sprayed Distress Stain Spray – Faded Jeans all over the pages and used my heat tool to dry.

splatter

Next I placed some TCW9012 Shimmery Goodness onto my craft mat and added some water so that I could splatter the background using a small paint brush.

big wreath

Once that was dry, I then used TCW721 Big Wreath stencil along with TCW9024 Kale Smoothie Heavy Body Acrylic Paint and Dylusions Paints Dirty Martini and Fresh Lime for my leaves.

light and fluffy

Next I used TCW717s Ornaments stencil (my favourite Christmas stencil by the way) with TCW9004 Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste. I used this paste because I wanted to add dimension to my page for the step.

deco foil adhesive

After I dried the paste with my heat tool, I then used iCraft Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive on sections of my baubles. You need to allow this to dry for about an hour. I did however use my heat tool to speed the process up a little.

foil

I have found a new obsession here…..Transfer Foil!!! I have never used this before and by gosh it is AMAZING!!!! So I used Thermoweb Rebekah Meier Mixed Media Transfer Foils in New Penny, Antique Pearl, Patina and Old Gold. I also used Thermoweb Gina K Designs Fancy Foil – Turquoise Sea

modeling paste

Next I used the TCW719s Christmas Tree with TCW9009 Black Modeling Paste to stencil Merry Christmas onto my page. I also used a Uni Chalk Marker in white to draw the string for my baubles.

distress crayon

I wanted to add a little bit more to my baubles so here I am using some Distress Crayons – Tarnished Brass, Antiqued Bronze and Brushed Pewter and I’m just using my finger to rub it in. I have also used Dina Wakley’s Scribble Sticks – Black to add some shadowing around my baubles and blended it with a wet paint brush.

The last step I decided to add some sparkle to my leaves so I painted some Kindy Glitz – Crystalina. I used a paint brush because I only wanted a light sparkle.

Enjoy the little things – Art Journal Page

Hello Everyone!! Today I am sharing with you another project I created using this month’s product partner, Altered Pages and a TCW stencil. If you would like to check out more digital prints you can head on over to Jean’s website at www.alteredpages.com

So let step you through my process in creating this art journal page….I absolutely love this image called Cinco de Mayo

cover

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

20171010_125051

I started off by placing some scrap paper underneath sections of TCW749s Floating City stencil where I didn’t want my paste to go. Because my art journal is 8×8 inches I had to stencil twice. I used washi tape to keep my scraps of paper from moving. I used a palette knife to spread on my Colour Blast Australia Stormy Weather Paste and used a heat gun to dry.

20171010_130851

Next I used Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks to add colour to my sky and the buildings. For the sky I sprayed some water onto my tray and drew the sticks in the water to create a watercolour consistency and applied with a small paint brush.

20171010_132301

For the Buildings I drew the scribble sticks directly onto my buildings and used a wet paint brush to blend the colours. I also used Lindy’s Stamp Gang Sprays – Steampunk Sepia and Rusty Lantern Lime. I also applied the sprays with a small paint brush.

20171010_132956

Once I was happy with the buildings, I then moved onto the water. For this I applied Lindy’s Stamp Gang spray Sassy Sapphire, 13arts Chalk Ultramarine and Chalk Indigo sprays using water and a paintbrush.

20171010_133124

I wanted to add a little bit of a shimmer to my water so I used a dry paint brush to tap some Colour Blast Shimmer Dust Peacock onto my page and activated it with water.

20171010_133143

To finish off my canal, I tapped some scrap paper to my Floating City stencil  (just to make sure I didn’t get any paint where is shouldn’t go) and used TCW9021 Blueberry Pie Heavy Body Acrylic Paint and a sponge to dab my waves. I did this technique several times until I was happy.

20171010_135411

Now for my gorgeous Cuban princess!!! I printed her onto normal A4 computer paper and after fussy cutting her, I then adhered her to a thicker card using Grafix Artist-tac adhesive sheets and then added some foam tape before adding her to my page.

20171010_133444

To finish off my page I stamped a quote using Dina Wakley’s Gal Quotes and black archival ink. I cut the quote out into individual strips and adhered to my page.
