Halloween themed Headbands – Helmar

Hi Everyone, today I am sharing my last DT post for Helmar…. I can’t believe how fast the last 6 months have gone!!! So I decided to create some Halloween headbands and what perfect way to use a few of the Helmar products. And can I just say thank you to my 2 little models – the boys loved modeling for me!!!

So to begin I cut out 2 sizes of circles using my sizzix circle nesting dies in my Big Shots machine. Using the larger circle, I cut to the center of the circle.

Then I rolled the circle till it made a cone shape and adhered it to the smaller circle using Helmar Super Tac Glue. I love this adhesive, it dries clear and is super quick drying.

For the ribbon and tulle I used Helmar Fabric Glue around the bottom of the cone

I decided to add some stars to the hat (mental note – do this before you make the hat lol) So I used TCW2163 Twinkle stencil with TCW9041 Platinum Modeling Paste. Once dry, I then adhered my flowers, feathers and chipboard using Helmar 450 adhesive.

To adhere the hat to the head band, I used a hot glue gun. And here are the finished projects.

To Travel Is To Live Layout

Hey Everyone!! Today I am sharing with you all my latest mixed media layout using some of the new Dusty Attic chipboard and lots of Helmar products. So I was given the theme of planes for my Helmar blog post and decided to scrapbook this photo of myself waiting at the airport.

Helmar and Dusty Attic Farrel Tailor

The first thing I did was create a plane from a mold I had in my stash and used Helmar Acid Free Glue. I dusted some baby powder to the mold first and then let the mold sit for about a day. If you are going to give this ad try please be aware that this glue is flexible so be gentle when you remove it from the mold.

Once it was dry, I painted the plane with TCW9002 Black Gesso and then using a brush, I applied some Art Alchemy Waxes.

For the layout I applied a thin coat of TCW9011 Gel Medium to the 49 and Market Captured Adventures patterned paper. Once it was dry I then added some sprays by 13@rts and Dylusions.

Next I used Travel BordersChevrons Small and To Travel Is To Live chipboard and covered with black gesso.

Then I added 3 colours from the Prima Art Alchemy Waxes – Rose Gold, White Gold and Aged Brass. I just used my fingers to apply these waxes.

I sprayed my flowers using Dylusions Slate Grey

Then added some stamping and Tissue paper to the background before adhering all my layers.

To adhere my photo to the photo mount and the other paper layers I used Helmar Acid Free Glue.

To adhere my plane, chipboard pieces and flowers to my layout I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.
