Scrap The Girls Guest Designer for September Challenge

Today I am super excited to be sharing a layout that I created for Scrap The Girls (click here to see what the other amazing DT girls have created).

As you all know I have 3 boys so I don’t get to create using girly colours often so I was super chuffed when I was asked to be a guest designer for this month. Below is the sketch we had to get our inspiration from.

And this is what I created. I used Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Black Soot and Twisted Citron for my background.

The stamps I used are by Kaisercraft – Chicken Wire, Triangles, Boutique, Stitched Circles and Postmarks. I used Archival Ink – Watering Can to stamp the background.

The chipboard used is by Dusty Attic – Paris Post Mark, Postage Stamp and Word Pack #35.

Adventure Mixed Media Layout

Hello Everyone!!! I’m back today to share with you all a mixed media layout I created for The Crafter’s Workshop using one of my favourite stencils from the new 2017 Summer range….TCW744 Wanderlust.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

I started my layout with the dabbing technique using a piece of old plastic packaging, water and Distress Oxides in Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Broken China. I used my heat gun to dry the inks in between each colour.

Once I was happy with the background of my layout, I then used TCW744 Wanderlust with Dylusions Black Marble spray. I did use washi tape to tape off the areas I didn’t want the spray to come through. I then decided that the colour wasn’t as bold as what I had expected so I used a make up sponge to apply TCW9015 Black Licorice Heavy Body Paint….much better!!!

The next step I used TCW9008 Clear Modeling Paste and mixed a small amount of Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Shaker – Bavarian Blue to create my own paste to put through the 6×6 Wanderlust stencil. I used the small one as I didn’t want the title of my layout to be too big as my photo was trimmed down.

I then set my layout aside to dry and started to work on my chipboard. I covered my chipboard using a make up sponge and TCW9003 Gold Gesso. I then used a paint brush to water down TCW 9001 White Gesso and TCW9021 Blueberry Pie Heavy Body Paint and splattered onto my chipboard. I used my heat gun to dry and then cut into 2 pieces using scissors.

Gold and white Gesso

I used TCW 9001 White Gesso to brush around my photo very lightly using my index finger and then once it was dry I used iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive to adhere my chipboard pieces and cheese cloth and photo to my layout.

To finish it off I then splattered some Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber using a little bit of water a small paint brush.

You Fill My Heart – The Dusty Attic DT

Hello there Lovelies!!

I am super excited to be sharing with you all my very first design team project for The Dusty Attic!!!!

I have created this masculine scrapbooking layout using some amazing chipboard and other mixed media products.20170801_100221

How amazing are these chipboard pieces for boy layouts?! I started off by building my background using a TCW stencil from their new release and some Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays. I then stamped randomly using a Kaisercraft Graffiti Stamp with black Versafine.

I used Aged Teal Embossing Enamel on my String Circle Frame piece and then cut into 2 pieces….this way I wasn’t wasting any of the chipboard behind the photo.

I cut random pieces from the Diamond Panel chipboard and painted with black gesso. I then dabbed some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse using my finger. I also cut the small Filmstrip in half and inked with my versafine and splattered using Frozen Jack Frost spray.
