Dreamer of Dreams Frame – Art Anthology

Happy New Year Everyone!!!! Today I am sharing an altered frame using lots of Art Anthology mixed media goodies!!!

Dreamer of Dreams Frame by Farrel Tailor

I stared by painting my Dusty Attic chipboard frame with white gesso, then used Minx Shimmering Ink – Panche on the base and Sorbet Dimensional Paint – Vegas Gold on the top layer.

Next I tore a piece of paper from an old book and sprayed it with Colorations Sprays – Warm and Sandcastle. I then adhered this piece to the back of the chipboard frame.

I stamped a mixture of butterflies onto some white cardstock (prima stamps) and used Minx Shimmering Ink – Panche and Colorations sprays – Plush, Peacock Feathers and Siesta Keys to colour the butterflies.

Season’s Greetings Card – Art Anthology

Hi there everyone, I am back with another project share and today I decided to create a Christmas card. I know it is very rare of me to create a card but I thought it might be time to step out of my comfort zone for a little bit.

Season's Greetings Card by Farrel Tailor

  1. To start my card I used an old music sheet from my stash and sprayed all over using Colorations Spray – Warm. Once dry, I then tore to fit my card.

2. I inked the edges of my music sheet with Vintage Photo archival Ink and then stenciled the whole area of the sheet using AA’s Clear Coat Dimensional Medium – Splashed and Art Deco stencil.

3. Next I painted my Green Tara large Poinsetta flower with Gold Metal Effects medium using a paint brush. I applied 2 coats of this for complete coverage.

4. Next I used a paint brush to paint my chipboard flourishes using Minx Shimmering Ink – Decadent. Make sure you give this a good shake to make sure all the shimmering goodness is throughout the ink.

5. Then all there is needs to be done is adhere everything to the card and I found some Christmas stamps in my stash which I used on some white card stock and used Vintage Photo archival Ink. The backing of the sentiment I used some glitter paper and adhere a piece of ribbon from my stash also.

Paradise Found Layout – Art Anthology

Hi there my creative lovelies!! Today I am sharing my newest project for Art Anthology.

At the end of the blog is my process video – feel free to check it out xx

  1. To begin with I applied a thin coat of clear gesso to my patterned paper. Why do I do this you may ask? It is to seal the paper so that I can add my mediums to the paper without it buckling. Once dry I then using AA’s stencil Keyhole and Velvet Dimensional Paint – Brownie.

2. After drying the stenciled area with my heat tool, I then applied some clear crackle medium and dried again. I then sprayed the crackled area with water and using a paint brush I applied Siesta Key and Granny Smith Colorations Sprays.

3. I sprayed my flowers with water and then sprayed Colorations Spray – Sandcastle. I used my heat tool to dry the flowers.

4. I painted the flowers with Minx Shimmering Ink – Decadent using a paint brush. I also painted my chipboard title with the same ink.

5. I then adhered all my pieces to the layout along with mini prillz and art stones. And finished the layout off with some stamping.

I used these products on my project:

Stencil – Keyhole

Colorations Sprays – Siesta Key, Granny Smith, Sandcastle

Minx Shimmering Ink – Decadent

Velvet Dimensional Paint – Brownie

In Nature Mixed Media Canvas

Hello there my lovelies!!!! Well I am sure most of you would have seen the latest 3Quarter Designs release over the weekend – Seasons Palette…… and all I can say is WOW!!! I thought for this collection I would create a mixed media canvas and I can see a lot of layouts being created with this collection too….. just stunning!

I was planning on recording my process with this project but silly me forgot to charge my phone first and then I didn’t realise that the video had stopped recording…. oops. Anyway I shall give you a quick tutorial on my canvas – So I used a 5×7 inch canvas and covered it using the paper with Hydrangeas on it.

I used a palette knife to scrape some black gesso around the edges. I painted the film strip chipboard from the collection, my resin frame and metal butterfly with black gesso. For the frame and butterfly I used Art Alchemy Waxes to add some colour.

Using the same patterned paper, I tore 2 strips using the lighter part of the paper and inked with Distress Archival Inks and adhere to both sides of the film strip. I also cut the quote strip at the bottom of the paper and mounted them onto the “Pine” photo mats.

I used alcohol inks to add colour to my glass pebbles (gold mixative and Valencia) and inked my cheese cloth using Art Anthology’s Minx Shimmering Inks – Decadent. Then I added my flowers and art stones.

One of a Kind Tag – Art Anthology

Hi there my crafty followers, today I am up on the Art Anthology Blog with this Mixed Media tag. There is a process video located at the end of the blog so please feel free to click on it to watch me in action xx.

I started my tag by using Stone Effects – Bone with Art Nuveau stencil. After drying with my heat tool, I then added white gesso and also applied some crackled paste.

Once dry and all my elements on the tag have been adhered and covered with white gesso, I then applied Colorations Color Spray – Siesta Key. Next I used Minx Shimmering Ink – Panache on the background and used a little bit of water to help the ink spread around the tag.

After the ink has dried, I then spray Colorations Color Spray Peacock Feathers to create some depth to the tag. To break up some of the blue on the tag, I then used Rust Texture Set on some of the elements on the tag.

After adhering my chipboard butterfly, I then added Minx Shimmering Ink – Decadent. Then to finish off the tag, I added the gold paste from Rust Texture Set to highlight.

 AA products products used:

Stencil – Art Nuveau

Colorations  – Siesta Key, Peacock Feathers

Stone Effects – Bone

Minx Shimmering Inks – Panache, Decadent

Texture Set – Rust

Thanks for dropping and by and I will be back real soon with my next project xx
