Steampunk ATC’s

Hi there my lovelies!!! Today I am up on the Art Anthology blog and I am sharing with you my steampunk Artist Trading cards using there Colorations Color Sprays.

Steampunk ATC's

For those who aren’t aware Artist Trading Cards (ATC’s) are trading cards you create with a theme and swap them with others every month. I find these cards are a great way to get the creative juices flowing so here is how I created mine.

  1. I cut my card stock at 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches and used Darkroom Door’s Measuring Tape stamp with black archival ink. I used Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Ink pad for the background and sealed it using a fixative spray.

2. Next I sprayed Colorations Color Spray in Sandcastle all over the cards and used my heat gun to dry.

3. Then I sprayed Colorations Spray Siesta Key and again dried with a heat gun. Once the cards were dry, I then sprayed with Colorations Spray Indigo.

4. Then I sprayed my craft mat with water to reactive the left over sprays from my cards and smooshed the cards over the sprays….no wasting lol.

5. I then added some washi tape to the cards and stamped my steampunk stamps onto cardstock and cut them out and adhered everything including the sentiments to the cards.

And just like that you have a set of ATC’s to swap.

This is the list of products that I used:

Colorations: Sandcastle, Siesta Key, Indigo

Stamps: Darkroom Door Measuring Tape Background Stamp and Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Noble Gent

Tim Holtz stickers and Distress Oxide Ink Spiced Marmalade

Thanks for dropping and can’t wait to share my next project with you all soon xx

Art Journaling with Alcohol Inks and TCW Stencils

Hey there my lovelies!!! Today is my turn over on The Crafter’s Workshop’s blog and I am sharing with you all another art journal page I created using Ranger Alcohol Inks and TCW stencils. There is also a process video at the end of the blog if you wish to watch me in action.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

To begin with I painted over a page in my art journal using TCW9002 Black Gesso. The page I used was one I experimented with a while ago.

For my background I used a sheet of lightweight synthetic sheet by Darkroom Door and cut it to fit my small Dylusions art journal. I then used Alcohol Inks – Sunset Orange, Dandelion, Shell Pink, Citrus, Pool & Cool Peri by dripping some of the colour onto my sheet and adding a small amount of Blending solution. I then used a straw to blow the inks around the page.

Sometimes you will get some sticky parts where the alcohol ink hasn’t quite dried right. I used Mixed Media Transfer Foil in New Penny by Thermoweb. I just used my finger to rub over the areas.

Next I put a small amount of Alcohol Lift Off ink onto my foam blending tool and dabbed it over TCW810s Blooming Garden stencil. I used the 6×6 stencil for this, then using a clean paper towel I lightly rubbed the ink off the page.

I then added some stamping to the background and used TCW9011 Matte Gel Medium to adhere my Humming bird and sentiment stamped image to my page. Then adhered it to my art journal.

These Are Treasured Memories layout

Hi Everyone, I’m back today to share with you my interpretation of the Dusty Attic December Mood Board. These colours are just amazing and I decided to use these colours as the base of my layout.

mood board

And this is what I came up with…

cover

I started by using 7 Dots Studio Cotton Candy pp – Cloud Watching and white Cardstock as my base. Then mixed some white gesso with Distress Stain Peacock Feathers to create a light blue paint.

20171204_113032

Using my fingers I applied the paint onto my paper and used a heat tool to dry. I then applied Nuvo Embellishment Mouse – Pacific Teal using a baby wipe in a swiping motion. I then put a small amount of white gesso onto the baby wipe to help blend the mouse.

20171204_115915

I also used the same mousse around the edges of the my photo mount before adhering my photo.

20171204_115045

Next I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Spray – Shabby Turbine Teal to create depth around the torn edges of my paper using a paint brush and some water.

20171204_121531

I then added some texture by using TCW Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste and TCW662s Mini Tile Mania stencil.

20171204_122611

Now for the chippy!!! I used Dusty Attic Geometric Border, Geometric Corners  and cut them into smaller pieces so I could build a layer with them. I then painted them and the  String Frames Small with Prima Acrylic Paint Sparks – Raven Black. Once dry I then adhered them onto my layout.

20171204_133443

I then used my finger to apply a small amount of Prima Acrylic Sparks Paint – Mermaid Sparkle and Nuvo Embellishment Mousse – Pacific Teal to the geometric pieces.

20171204_152239

I also added some stamping using Stampers Anonymous stamps – Ultimate Grunge and Slight Alterations with Ranger Archival Ink – Watering Can.

20171204_152226

Then to finish it off I used These Are Treasured Moments chipboard and lightly covered with white gesso using a make up sponge and then blended Nuvo Embellishment Mousse – Pacific Teal around the edges. And adhered a tab from Mini Tabs #7 Black.

Art Journal Cover

Hello Everyone!!!

Today I am sharing with you all a mixed media art journal cover I created using some amazing TCW products and Dusty Attic Chipboard pieces. My inspiration for this cover is from the Dusty Attic September Mood Board.

20170919_153054

To start the background I applied TCW 9001 White Gesso using a dry paint brush. Then to blend the edges a little bit, I used a baby wipe. Once the gesso was dry (which doesn’t take long as it’s only a light coverage) I then used TCW202s Mini Harlequin stencil along with TCW9004 Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste using a silicone brush.

20170919_110249  20170919_110857

I then dried the modeling paste using my heat gun. Once that was dry I then used some 13arts Water based inks mixed with water in colours – Yellow, Scarlet and Bordeaux. Again used the heat gun to dry and then applied some stamping using black archival ink, Stampers Anonymous stamp and Darkroom Door texture stamp.

20170919_111454  20170919_113026

Once I was happy with the background I then covered my small doily from Doily #5 with TCW9001 White Gesso and covered the small Fleur de Lis with TCW9015 Heavy Body Acrylic Paint Black Licorice

20170919_113850  20170919_122206

Next I lightly sprinkled some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Shakers – Bavarian Blue and just lightly sprayed with water. I then coloured the cheesecloth with Colour Blast Shimmer Dust – Cobalt and Navy and some water. And now to assemble!!! As you can see I have cut the painted black doily chipboard in half, added the cheesecloth and some art stones. I adhered all my pieces using iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive

20170919_122605  20170919_124555

Last of all I adhered the Fleur de Lis chipboard along with the black title from Wordpl@y #3 black chipboard in the center.
