Altered Suitcase

Hi Everyone, today for my tutorial I am sharing a mini suitcase I altered for Snip Art.

There is a process video at the end of the blog if you would like to watch.

I started by cutting my background ornamental chipboard to size and applied Finnabair’s liquid acrylic paint in Burnt Seinna.

For the cogs, I heat embossed the cogs with WOW embossing powder Weathered Gold. I painted the first layer of the balloon with liquid acrylic paint in Burnt Seinna and then heat embossed the top layer with WOW embossing powder Crusty Copper.

I covered the title and compass with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Ink. The feather arrow and frame stamp chipboard I covered with Old Paper Distress Oxide ink.

I used Finnabair’s Matte Wax in Rusty Red and Rusty Brown on the outside of the suitcase to age it.

Life is a beach – Altered Anchor

Hello there my lovely crafty friends, today I am sharing my latest project for Snip Artwith you all. When I received my DT box 2 months ago I was super excited when I saw the MDF anchor and have been busting at the seams to create something with it……so here is my project.
For the base I used a Art Anthology Stone texture paste and Paper Artsy Fresco chalk acrylic paint to create a rusty effect. I added some fish netting and art stones as well.
I used the same paints to cover the seashell frame, rudder, title and compass with feather. The octopus I used archival ink in mermaid lagoon and vintage photo.
I inked around the edges of the anchor using Ground Espresso Archival ink and dry brushed the netting with white gesso.

Say Yes to New Adventures Art Journal Page for Snip Art

Hi there my lovely crafty follwers, tonight I am sharing my latest art journal page for SnipArt. I have been wanting to create an art journal page like this one and whilst on the crafting cruise I just come back from I got inspiration to create a travel themed page.

I started with a kraft base and used some music sheets, patterned cardstock from a catalogue and using a spatula applied some Stamperia Crackle Paste.
Once the paste dried I then stamped the background using Darkroom Door World Map stamp and Gazette texture stamp. I splattered some acrylic paint and used Seth Apter’s Izink Dye Spray – Marron. I also used Tim Holtz Design Tape – Journey.

I painted the Up in the air – ornaments with feathers using PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk Acrylic Paint in Mermaid. I heat embossed Balloon with cogs chipboard using Stampendous Embossing Enamel – Aged Ivory. Next I painted the Vintage Boutique – Large Napkin using Stamperia Cappuccino Acrylic paint and then highlighted using Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Squirts – Maple Syrup Bronze.

I inked both Up in the air – Ormanenty – Diamonds and Mandala’s Dream Border #1 with black archival Ink. I adhered all the pieces to my page and finished the page by splattering some of the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Squirts – Maple Syrup Bronze and added my title using a Tim Holtz Small Chat Sticker.
